The LOLA's Commitment to to Human Centered Work

At The LOLA, we are committed to creating a human-centered community that serves all women. This commitment is reflected in our values.

We strive to create a better culture and system that benefits everyone, and we believe that is achieved by better supporting the most underrepresented.

“If we can better support the most underserved in our community, then we will all benefit.” – The LOLA

To achieve this goal, we have implemented several initiatives that foster a genuine community. Over the past 5 years, we have worked on ourselves and our businesses.

The LOLA specializes in community and leadership development. We know every journey looks different—explore the unique ways our values support leaders here:

We invest in our own personal growth:

  • We challenge, redefine and live into our own version of success.
  • We seek inspiration, tools and knowledge so we can develop our skills and expertise to grow in business and life.
  • We look to learn from others alongside us. We stay open to new ideas and are willing to change the way we do things.
  • We are actively building the support systems we need.
  • We pay it forward in every way – whether that means leaving a space better than it was found, or opening our network to one another.

We connect and foster trust with others:

  • We actively seek to connect with one another and grow our ecosystem of support
  • We embrace our differences and seek to better understand them. We respect others’ boundaries.
  • We assume positive intent in others and own our own mistakes
  • We celebrate our wins and sit with them when they face challenges.

We connect and foster trust with others:

  • We actively seek to connect with one another and grow our ecosystem of support
  • We embrace our differences and seek to better understand them.
  • We respect each others’ boundaries.
  • We assume positive intent in others and own our own mistakes
  • We celebrate our wins and sit with others when they face challenges.

We stay open and let go of fear:

  • We don’t armor up, we’re honest about how we’re feeling and what we need from our relationships.
  • We reject hustle culture, we don’t encourage or perpetuate it.
  • We embrace who we are and share what we’re about honestly.
  • We reach out and ask for help when we need it.

We are a human-centered community:

  • We aim to understand those who sit next to us face, individually and collectively, especially those who don’t look or sound like us.
  • We have come together to reimagine and design a workplace for all, centered on community.

The Legacy Leadership Project

At The LOLA, we have partnered with the SageD Collective to deliver the Legacy Leadership Project. This annual project holistically looks at the experience of the leader, delivering both an individualized and collective approach.

The Legacy Leadership Project’s programming hinges on three central pillars:

Self-care

Many women executives burn out after working at an unsustainable pace due to the history of inequity and racism. Legacy Leadership responds to these challenges by centering self-care as an essential component of leadership development.

Community Activation

Capacity building, network expansion, and shared knowledge are critical access to comprehensive professional networks and resources these have been systemically withheld from women.

Legacy Building

Central to sustainable leadership development, legacy building enables Executives to see themselves as thought leaders and experts in their field, affirming value in their own right
